Kitchen Bark

Do you ever make a recipe that calls for melted chocolate, except you always melt too much chocolate and have some leftover? I know this happens to me a lot! Especially when I am making homemade chocolate to use in my recipes! So, when you have leftover chocolate, just make Kitchen Bark!

Why call it kitchen bark? That’s because you can put everything and anything you have in your kitchen on this bark. It is really simple and you can make it with whatever flavors you would like! This bark is also dairy free and paleo friendly, so that makes it even better! My homemade chocolate is three simple ingredients, Cocoa Powder, Agave, and Coconut Oil. When I do not have enough chocolate to melt for a recipe, I tend to make it homemade! It is so simple and super tasty!

Kitchen Bark Ingredients

  • Cocoa Powder
  • Coconut Oil
  • Agave
  • Peanuts
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pretzels – I used From the Ground Up Snacks Cauliflower Pretzels

How to make Kitchen Bark

  1. If you are making the homemade chocolate, place the cocoa powder and coconut oil in a glass bowl. Heat for 1 minute in the microwave and stir. Mix in the agave.
  2. Pour chocolate onto your parchment paper.
  3. Add peanut butter to the chocolate and swirl it around using a knife or fork. Then top with peanuts and salted pretzels.
  4. Place in the freezer until it hardens enough to break it into pieces.
  5. Store in freezer and enjoy!

Tips on how to make the best kitchen bark

  • You do not have to make your own chocolate! You can always use a regular chocolate bar that you melted!
  • You can top this bark with whatever you would like! I chose peanuts, peanut butter and pretzels because it sounded super delicious! You can use any nut butter or no nut butter at all! You can also top it with other types of nuts, cereal, cookies, really anything you want!
